Jirani

Jirani (Swahili for "neighbour") is a marketplace app for everyday local services: home repairs, cleaning, errands, moving and other jobs people need done.

Jirani is in development for Android and iPhone and is being tested with a small group before public release. It is not yet available in the Google Play Store or the App Store. Contact us if you would like to hear when it launches.

For customers

• Find someone you can trust. Browse providers near you by type of work. Each profile shows ratings, jobs completed, and who has vouched for them.
• Book or post a job. Book a provider directly, or describe a task and let available providers nearby respond.
• Follow the job. See each booking's status from request to completion, and contact the provider when you need to.
• Review honestly. After a job, customer and provider review each other. Neither sees the other's review until both are in.

For service providers

• Bring your customers with you. Customers who already use you can vouch for you, so you start with a reputation instead of from zero.
• Get found. New customers nearby can discover you through the people who already trust your work.
• Keep a record of your work. Your job history, ratings and reviews build into a portable record of your business.

Designed for how people live

• Sign in with your phone number and a one-time SMS code. No password to remember.
• Runs on affordable Android phones as well as iPhone, and keeps working when the connection drops.
• Uses your location only to show providers and jobs near you.
• Built around mobile money, which is how most people in the region pay.
